I did not get this phone for free nor pay a small sum, I paid in excess of R5000 for this phone. We have had the phone for about two months now and during this time she has had approximately two weeks use out of it. Since the phone had been pratically faulty from day one I expected them to replace the phone with a new one but they said it was out of the 7 day period, a mere two weeks old, and they had to book it in and send it to Nokia for repairs. I booked it in and a few days later we left for overseas and assumed that during this 3 weeks we were away, would be more than sufficient time to attend to the phone.  Upon our return we were surprised that it had still not been repaired and she was without her phone for almost another week.  After a week of having the phone back it is still faulty.  I contacted Nokia directly who informed me that the phone was never sent in to them to begin with.  The store manager at Altech Autopage Cellular had lied and only when I confronted him did he admit that one of their technicians had tried to repair it. I have tried to contact ALTECH AUTOPAGE CELLULAR HEAD OFFICE but you cant get to speak to any one of authority, they simply refer you to the area manager for Natal as the store is privately owned, now you wonder why we have had the service we have, the top dogs avoid the problems and simply pass the buck. The phone has again been sent in for repairs almost a week ago and to date we have not heard from anyone. My advice to any person buying a phone is to rather purchase directly from a Vodacom or MTN store and not these other franchise stores that are privately owned because when the shit hits the fan, they are cowards and cant face up to you. \n");

This is a very large problem with 3G battery life in general.  It won't matter too much which phone you're using either.  It's best to check with your operator to ensure this is available in your network coverage area.  This would be applied differently and it's possible not all modes of operation are implemented, half rate speech, full rate speech, packet data etc.<br><br>The only other option is to place your N95 into 2G mode and switch to 3G for data only.\n");

It charges up v quickly but runs down overnight so badly the whole phone goes dead and have to reenter pin every morning. I felt so ripped off  after 3 weeks after purchase the phone shop said would not refund money on the as new phone. Said had to send in for repairs and referred to a nokia battery shop to check out the batteries. No one will take any responsibility. I feel like taking a hammer to it and smashing it to pieces. There must be a way we can get a recall on these phones through a class action and get our money back. I have never had a phone in the last 17 years that has required so much of my attention just to keep the frikkin' thing functioning as a phone. A call to arms I say.\n");

If I am using it just for calls and SMS , with bluetooth on, it lasts for 3 days, and after that gives me sign battery low. But if I am using it for GPS, games or video it lasts just for one day.<br>If Nokia don't redesign battery (1200 or 1400 mAh) I think I'll buy a new one of 950, and have it charged in my pocket. document.write("<br>If you upgrade the software  on your phone the problem mite be solved. Some N95’s have a software bug that makes it consume more battery power. I had the same problem when I had software V12.0.013(Dutch ed.) but when I put the updated software V21.0.016(Dutch ed.) on it, the battery lasted a bit longer, the camera response time went up and a lot of other things worked a little better. The only downside of this fix is that it will reset the phone completely and delete al your contacts, text messages, photo’s, ringtone etc. so don’t forget to make a copy of everything you want to save.(If you want to check the current software version on your phone pres *#0000#). The latest software update can be downloaded at http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4226014  .if that doesn’t work , call Nokia Care (UK) 0845 0455555  Mon-Fri 9 am - 9 pm (except bank and public holidays) they can tell you where you can find a nokia shop that can update your phone for you (free of charge) don’t go to the shop were you bought your phone, they don’t have the experience and mite charge you for the update or send it to nokia witch can take a few weeks. my N95 now can last up to 2 days fully using my phone with Bluetooth, Fring(msn yahoo etc.),  e-mailbox and nokia sync running the whole time.
